Crumbled Herb Feta Dish

A bowl of herbed Feta cheese used as a dip or side in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.

  • 16 oz Greek Feta Cheese (Crumble your block of cheese by hand)
  • 1 T Fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
  • 1 T Fresh thyme (finely chopped)
  • 1 T Fresh dill (finely chopped)
  • 2 T Fresh dill (finely chopped)
  • 1 T citris infused olive oil
  • 1/2 t red pepper flakes

Mise en place

  1. Wash hands and herbs.



Combine

  1. Take the block of feta cheese, and with your hands crumble it all up into a bowl.

  2. Chop all the herbs and combine in the bowl, mix well by hand.



  3. Once done, drizzle a good quality citrus infused olive oil on top and sprinkle some red pepper flakes. Serve.

This dish is one of many you would place out on the table (others may include hummus, tabbouleh, some pita bread, olives, etc, This is called Meze, in order words,  a selection of small dishes served as appetizers. This is a common table setting in parts of the Middle East, the Balkans, Greece, and North Africa.
